My path to counselling psychology wasn't a straight line — and that's precisely what makes it useful. Before I became a therapist, I spent over a decade in the boardrooms of PwC and Deloitte, working my way to Director level. I understood the metrics of success. I also understood the cost of it.
In those years, I sat with high-performing individuals and clients managing invisible pressures - the weight of expectation, the isolation of leadership, the aim for success in a way that did not always feel authentic, fair or straight forward. I knew there was a gap between what organisations' talent programmes offered and what leaders and teams actually wanted and needed.
So I went back to study whilst working full time. I completed my Master's in Counselling Psychology and built a practise that bridges both worlds — the psychological and the professional, the personal and the organisational.

My experience both personal & professional and as an active community leader isn't incidental to my clinical work, it's central to it. When a client shares about the complexity of family life, or the hidden emotional weight of working in Asia, or the challenge of building community in a transient city, I'm not just listening with professional empathy. I know these territories deeply.
From this foundation, it is The Fortitude Partners approach: clinical rigour combined with genuine human understanding. Theory without lived experience is incomplete. And lived experience without clinical training is just anecdote. The combination is what enables real, lasting change.
